The Kentucky Civil Rights Act
It is illegal to discriminate against any person because of:
Race - Age - Disability - Color - Religion
National Origin - Family Status* - Smoking

In the areas of:
Employment - Housing - Public Accommodations - Financial Transactions

It is illegal to retaliate against a person who files a discrimination complaint

The Commission shall encourage fair treatment and equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, color, sex, age, physical condition, religion, or national origin; and shall promote mutual understanding and respect among all economic, social, religious, racial, and ethnic groups and their members.


The Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Human Rights Commission (VMWCHRC) was established on March 21, 1995, by the cities of Midway and Versailles and the Woodford County Fiscal Court. These three governmental entities entered into an "Interlocal Cooperation Agreement" establishing the VMWCHRC.

*Family Status applies only to housing. It includes women who are pregnant and households with children age 17 and younger.
